FAQs

What is your Confidentiality Policy?

What clients disclose during the therapy sessions is kept in strict confidence and all information shared in session, (as well as any and all session notes) are considered privileged information and confidential. In addition,  Administrative staff is required to sign a confidentiality agreement, and hold these same standards of privacy.

How long is each session and how often should I attend ?

Sessions are usually 50 minutes in length. Most clients start out once or twice per week, depending on the need at the time, and as time goes on with progress frequency becomes less.

How long will I be in Counselling?

The length of time  a client attends counselling depends on the nature of the issue(s) and the goals of the counselling. Some clients have a very specific issue that can be worked through in a set course of care. For others, counselling is an on-going learning process and they choose to participate for longer durations of counselling.

How much are your Fees and do you take Insurance coverage ?

Your fee can depend on the service that you are seeking, but generally TD Psychological Services uses the Fee Schedule recommended by the Psychologist's Association of Alberta as a guideline for setting fees for services.

In some cases, we can bill your insurance provider directly. When this is not possible, you would be required to pay for your counselling up front either by credit card or e-transfer and submit your receipt and any other required paper work to your insurance plan for reimbursement. We recommend that you contact your insurance provider and/or Employee Assistance Program for clarification of benefits.

We require a 48 hour notice for cancellation of an appointment, if not provided the regular appointment  fee will be charged.
